About the Author
David Linhardt is a
chemical engineer that graduated from Purdue University in
1965. From 1965 to 1993, he worked for The Dow
Chemical Company in a wide variety of technical and
management positions. He has worked in both US and in
foreign locations.
From 1979 to 1983, David was an
Environmental Specialist at Dow's chemical manufacturing
complex in Midland, MI. During this time, he prepared
the initial Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)
operating permit applications for the site's hazardous
waste management facilities.

From 1983 to 1993, David was
employed by Dow's Agricultural Chemicals Production
Department and was responsible for the technical and
business support of the manufacturing facilities used for the
production of pesticides. He left the department and
the company in
1993 as a Manufacturing Consultant.
From 1993 to 2003, David was a
Raw Material Purchasing Manager for Rhone-Poulenc Ag,
Aventis Ag and Bayer CropScience. During this time
period, he was responsible for the sourcing of chemicals and
chemical intermediates used in the production of
agricultural chemicals.
In 2003, David
formed a consulting company, ChemTelligence, Inc., that provides global chemical
companies with assessments of competitors' manufacturing
technologies and estimates of manufacturing costs and profitability.
He is also an expert witness on the manufacture of
pesticides. He is
currently president of that company.
David is married and has five
grown children. From 1980 to 1994, David and his
family lived in Midland, MI. He and his wife currently reside in
Cary, North Carolina.
In addition to being the
webmaster for this website, he is also writing a book,
Dioxin ... Dow Chemical and the poisoning of
Midland, Michigan about the dioxin
contamination that is present in Midland and the adjacent
waterways and the health risks to exposed residents and Dow
employees.
